Me in a nutshell:

My name is Gregory and I am a UX/UI designer with a background in human development.

Prior to UX...

Before embarking on my journey into UX design, I was a high school educator with a passion for community and social justice. As an educator, I was motivated by the desire to deeply understand my students and the various ways they learn, and I used my creativity and courage to try innovative approaches to resolve the challenges that came up as they learned. After 5 transformative years in the classroom, I decided to explore something new but equally as human and process centered.

As a designer...

I approach all problems with a deep sense of curiosity and empathy considering the implications for users during each step of the design process. I seek to design solutions that benefit the lives of users in tangible ways while addressing the business goals of clients. I also look for inspiration not just in existing solutions, but also in what has not been tried yet. My strengths lie in understand the needs of a specific group of people, making connections between these needs and potential solutions, and leveraging feedback about ideas in order to iterate on them. I hope to continue to hone on these skills as a UX/UI designer. And I also hope to find a design home somewhere within a mission oriented industry whose work has a social impact on the lives of unrepresented, disenfranchised and/or vulnerable communities.

Outside of UX...

In my spare time, I enjoy watching reality television and documentaries, writing poetry and spending time in nature.
